Re-post from Royal Rangers USA Website;

The first National Academy and Advanced National Academy were held in Singapore during the last week of April.  Jim Barger, National Council President and Perry Siddle, national training coordinator were in Singapore to help direct the academies and give local leadership updates on current training opportunities and the future of training in Royal Rangers

Leaders from Singapore and Malaysia attended the Academies with 18 leaders attending Academy and 8 leaders attending Advanced Academy.  The camp ran smoothly thanks to outstanding leadership in Singapore and Malaysia.  Staff members were:

  • Eng Kiat Chia, Singapore National Commander
  • Chris Chan Wei Keh, Singapore national staff
  • Thomas Sng, Singapore national staff
  • Jim Guneratnam, RRI Regional Director for Aisa
  • Kum Hon Ng
  • John Loh
  • Jim Barger, National Council President
  • Perry Siddle, National Training Coordinator

These men did a superb job of providing top notch training in many different leadership areas.  Singapore schedules approximately 1 NTC per year and commander Chia believes he has a great team of leaders who will be able to bless future leaders who attend NTC.

Singapore and Malaysia Royal Rangers is open to both boys and girls.  Singapore has over 1,000 Royal Rangers and Commander Chia has a vision to grow it 10 fold in the next 5 years.  To give their leaders the very best training possible, national training events such as NTC are open to both men and women who wish to attend.

Singapore is a country of more than 4 million people.  17% of the population is Christian, 12% Muslim/Islamic, and 70% practices some form of Chinese religion.  Please pray for the Asian region as they spread the gospel to non-believers.
