
A key component of the Royal Rangers program is the chance for the children and youths to earn merits and advancements. These merits are both challenging and interesting to them. A wide variety of merits are available, for the physically, mentally socially and spiritually development of the child.
One of the most prestigious awards a youth can earn is the Gold Medal of Achievement. This award requires the completion of required and elective merits. Check out the list of Singaporeans who have achieved this prestigious award.
Another award of recognition for the youth is the Sabre which one has to embark on a Trail of the Sabre to achieve it. This involves the completion of several Junior Leadership Training Camps and the entry into the Frontiersmen Camping Fellowship.
Merits & their requirements
Blue Merits represent supplemental merits for use in the Discovery Rangers advancement trail.
Green Merits represent supplemental merits for use in the Adventure Rangers advancement trail.
Silver Merits are for use the Expedition Rangers advancement trail.
Bible Merits represent the discipleship system for Discovery and Adventure Rangers. A total of 48 Bible merits are available: 24 orange Bible merits for Discovery Rangers and 24 brown Bible merits for Adventure Rangers.
Leadership Merits are a new category of merits developed for the 2010 advancement system and are a required advancement component for all Discovery, Adventure, and Expedition Rangers.
